For two consecutive years, we’ve had the honor of producing the City of Palo Alto’s Employee Appreciation Event—bringing together over 500 attendees including firefighters, police officers, city council members, and local leaders for an afternoon of connection, play, and celebration.
Designed as a high-energy, team-building experience, the event featured interactive games, wellness activations, and thoughtfully curated spaces that encouraged departments to mix, mingle, and recharge outside of their day-to-day roles. What made this event especially unique from a planning perspective was navigating the intricacies of working within a municipal framework. From aligning with strict city guidelines and procurement processes to managing layered approvals, contracts, and budget parameters, the planning required both strategic collaboration and precision.
Our team worked closely with multiple stakeholders to ensure compliance while still delivering a seamless, engaging experience. The result was an event that not only celebrated the people who keep the city running, but also demonstrated how thoughtful planning can bring energy, connection, and joy.
